The rise in cases came amid a big jump in testing. The department reported the testing of 13,139 new individuals, only the third time that daily testing has exceeded 13,000 individuals.
The state’s 7-day testing-positivity rate dipped to 7.8% on Friday and the overall testing-positivity rate stayed at 8.8%.
The department reported 13 new deaths, bringing the cumulative total to 2,992.
