Cases have topped 1,000 in seven of the past 10 daily reports.
The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana was 1,065 on Thursday, up from 1,049 on Wednesday and from 842 two weeks ago.
The state reported 16 new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative total to 12,726.
The health department reported the testing of 6,237 new individuals.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dipped from 795 on Wednesday to 785 on Thursday, the first daily decline since April 2. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 1.35 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday at 5 a.m. More than 1.91 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
