Because no vaccine is going to be 100% at eliminating all disease … especially when the virus itself is mutating. The mutations that can get around the vaccine will survive, the rest will die off.
The vaccines have dramatically reduced the number of hospitalizations and deaths.
Randy and Joe, I don’t recall you commenting on the daily Covid results a month ago when the results were good and even less people were vaccinated. What changed? BTW, for some reason the “experts” either don’t have the numbers, or aren’t willing to share them, but it appears a significant amount of the new cases are from vaccinated people.

If you honestly believe the Chinese were not behind COVID then I don’t know what to tell you. Trump called it the Wuhan flu and was deemed a racist and Xenophobe. Anything posted on Social media sites opining that it was manufactured in the Wuhan lab were taken down and deemed “misinformation”. We need vaccine passports for people who want to go out in public as soon as full FDA approval comes. I don’t care what demographic or politictal base chooses not to get vaccinated. Allowing the virus to continue to spread and mutate puts all of us who have taken the vaccines at risk. Anyone who won’t do what they can to protect society as a whole has proven they don’t deserve the full freedoms that the rest of us do. Once that happens, no more mask mandates.

Yes Rebecca, that is a fact. It’s also a fact that it wouldn’t be spreading like it is if there weren’t so many unvaccinated people interacting with the rest of us.
Many GOP politicians and their right wing media are spreading fear about getting the vaccine. They’ve politicized it. That doesn’t help anyone, including the minorities. It’s interesting that states that Trump won like Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi lead in unvaccinated people. It’s not immigrants coming in. That’s just another lie from the GOP and their media. Vaccinated people are concerned because 1. The vaccine isn’t 100% effective. 2. More mutations will occur and more variants which may not be protected by the vaccine. 3. Kids under 12 can’t get vaccinated yet, so they’re at risk.
The vaccine has proven to be safe and effective. Substantially all the new cases are unvaccinated. Look at countries with low vaccination rates. Biden has done a great job and has been honest vs Trump who down played the virus and wearing of masks and held super spreader events.
I am sick and tired of the GOP saying wearing masks and vaccines takes away your freedom. Being unvaccinated takes away your freedom if you have long COVID or die. This is a pandemic health issue and vaccines are required for other diseases to enroll kids in schools.
GOP likes to argue about freedom and the right to control your own body but they want to control a women’s body. That’s hypocritical. If Trump really cared about this country he would highly encourage the vaccine without the BS stuff like people don’t trust the administration because of the BIG LIE.

Time/date stamp these “only the unvaccinated are getting sick” comments. As always data that doesn’t fit the agenda is hard to find. I have not heard what % of the new cases didn’t get the poke, but it feels high. I’m hearing 95% of hospitalized were pokeless, but it’s early in this round. I’m also hearing the breakthrough cases are less severe, but wonder if that is actual data, or wishful thinking? Special shout-out to Wes for helping identify who gets what freedoms.
You’re welcome. Also, you’re 95% figure goes to prove the vaccines work. You can’t smoke indoors at restaurants, you can’t get drunk and drive, and soon you won’t be able to do a lot of activities if you’re unvaccinated. Get over it.
Eventually, if everyone got vaccinated, 100% of hospitalized and dead patients would be breakthrough patients. The hope, though, is that it would be far fewer people than there are now.
The data emerging seems to support the need for booster shots as those vaccinated several months ago seem to be catching the delta variant more so than those recently fully vaccinated.
If there’s anything good to come from the Delta variant, it’s that those who haven’t caught the virus so far are WAY likely to do so, joining those vaccinated and those with natural immunity. It’s the hard way to get us closer to herd immunity but it’s one way to do it.
