Indiana reports 20 new COVID-19 deaths, 761 more cases

The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 761 new COVID-19 cases and 20 additional deaths. New reported cases have topped 700 for seven straight days and in 18 of the past 21 days.

The 20 deaths were the most seen in the daily report since Sept. 15, matching that day’s total. The state has reported 90 deaths over the past week, up from 63 the previous week.

The department on Tuesday reported the testing of 5,446 more unique individuals, the smallest testing number since Sept. 8. The cumulative positivity rate for unique individuals remained at 8.7% and the seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals stayed at 7.1%.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
