The seven-day moving average of daily COVID cases rose to 1,742, up from 304 a month ago.
The state also reported 19 new deaths from COVID, raising the cumulative total to 13,680. The seven-day moving average of new deaths rose from six to eight, the health department said.
Hospitalizations dipped from 1,318 on Monday to 1,296 on Tuesday. Monday’s hospitalization number was the highest since Feb. 5. The all-time high in Indiana was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 2.99 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday at 5 a.m. More than 3 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination. About 3,700 Hoosiers received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine on Tuesday.
