The state also reported another 34 deaths due to the coronavirus. The department has reported 288 new deaths over the past seven days, an average of 41.1 per day. That’s down from 389, or 55.6 per day, the previous week.
Deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits for 109 straight days.
The department said 10,834 new individuals were tested Wednesday in Indiana, the highest number in five days.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 ticked up from 1,902 on Tuesday to 1,915 on Wednesday, the first daily increase since Jan. 20. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 122,000 Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
