The seven-day moving average of new deaths remained 27 per day, the health department said.
The department has reported 222 new deaths from COVID over the past four days, an average of 55.5 per day.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dropped for the third day in a row after reaching an eight-month high of 2,687 on Monday, declining from 2,524 on Wednesday to 2,507 on Thursday. The peak was Nov. 30, when 3,460 were hospitalized.
Nearly a third (32.4%) of Indiana’s intensive care unit beds are occupied by COVID patients.
The state reported 4,368 cases of COVID-19, up from 4,157 cases in Thursday’s report.
More than 3.19 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday at 5 a.m., an increase of 6,496 from the previous day.
The state released the latest statistics for so-called breakthrough cases, hospitalizations and deaths on Thursday, reflecting data through Sept. 10. The numbers, which are updated weekly, showed that 28,790 Hoosiers who had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 have since tested positive for the virus, while 640 required hospitalization and 183 died. The average age of a breakthrough death was 80 years old.
