The state also reported 33 new deaths due to the coronavirus. Reported deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits in 137 of the past 138 days.
The department said 6,770 new individuals were tested Wednesday. The state said it added 663 historic tested individuals to the cumulative count.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dropped from 889 on Wednesday to 781 on Thursday, the lowest number since Sept. 21. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 531,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday at 5 a.m. More than 963,000 had received the first dose of a vaccination.
