The department reported the testing of 5,760 more individuals. That’s the smallest number in a daily report since July 7, when 3,568 new tests were reported. Testing had exceeded 9,000 each day for the previous six days.
The 7-day testing-positivity rate ticked up from 7.4% on Tuesday to 7.6% on Wednesday. The state’s overall testing-positivity rate remained at 8.8%.
The state also reported 15 new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the total during the pandemic to 2,878.
Marion County reported an increase of 106 cases, the 27th straight day that cases in the county have risen by more than 100. The county’s 7-day testing-positivity rate was 8.8%.
