Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Department of Health on Sunday reported 860 new COVID-19 cases, the sixth-highest daily total since the beginning of the pandemic. Meanwhile, cumulative testing in the state surpassed 700,000.
The state has reported more than 700 new cases daily for six straight days and more than 600 cases daily for the past 13 days. Total positive cases in the state since the beginning of the pandemic have risen to 62,372.
Over the past week, Indiana has seen cases raise by an average of 829 per day. That compares with an average of 708 the previous week.
The state also reported eight new deaths Sunday, bringing the total to 2,706.
The overall COVID-19 testing-positivity rate remained at 8.9% Sunday after the state reported 11,088 new tests. That’s the seventh-highest number of tests reported in a daily report since the beginning of the pandemic. Daily testing has topped 8,000 for 13 straight days.
