The state also reported 16 new deaths due to the coronavirus. The department said 5,299 new individuals were tested.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dropped from 619 on Monday to 609 on Tuesday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 870,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday at 5 a.m. More than 1.3 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
