The Indiana State Department of Health on Saturday reported 993 new cases of COVID-19. Cases have fallen short of the 1,000 mark 28 times in the past 30 days.

After rapidly dropping in January and February, daily case counts have risen slightly in March. The seven-day moving average of positive cases was 857 on Friday, up from 818 on March 1.

Indiana also reported the deaths of nine more people from COVID-19, raising the cumulative number to 12,605.

The department reported the testing of 16,060 new individuals but attributed 10,738 of those tests to a historical “data refresh.”
