The state also reported 49 new deaths due to the coronavirus. Reported deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits in 116 of the past 117 days.
The department said 6,943 new individuals were tested Thursday.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 fell from 1,541 on Wednesday to 1,446 on Thursday, the lowest number since Oct. 20. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 191,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as Friday at 5 a.m. More than 661,000 had received the first dose of a vaccination.
