The department also reported 23 new deaths from COVID-19—the highest number of deaths in the daily report since 27 were reported on March 13—raising the cumulative death tally to 13,267.
The state said more than 2.57 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.68 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased from 652 on Thursday to 625 on Friday. They are down from a recent high of 1,019 on May 4. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
