Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 381 new COVID-19 cases, the smallest number of cases in the daily report since July 7, when 314 cases were reported after a long holiday weekend.Monday marked the 17th straight day with fewer than 1,000 cases.
One day after reporting no new deaths in the daily report, the department reported only one new death on Monday. The state’s cumulative death tally stands at 13,137.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dropped from 770 on Saturday to 751 on Sunday. They have fallen from 1,019 on May 4. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The health department reported the testing of 2,546 new individuals.
The state said 2.42 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.59 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.

Continued good news. This is also 5 days in a row where the positivity rate is in the teens. Of those getting tested for Covid, only 16.85% were positive today. Hopefully, this is will continue downward, and be in the single digits circa the first two weeks of June. Get outside. Sunlight is a great disinfectant. And, the UVB rays help your body’s Vitamin D receptor cells produce Vitamin D3. (Just don’t overdo it.)
