Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 516 new cases of COVID-19 and just one new death from COVID-19—the smallest number of deaths in the daily report since one was reported on Sept. 13.
Daily COVID-19 cases have been below 1,000 for 16 straight days and for 24 of the past 25 days.
The department said 3,225 new individuals were tested Sunday.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased from 592 on Saturday to 548 on Sunday. That’s the lowest mark since the opening weeks of the pandemic. (The health department could not provide hospitalization numbers prior to April 8, 2020). The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 954,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m. More than 1.44 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
