The department also reported 20 new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative death tally to 13,239.
The state said more than 2.53 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.66 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased from 699 on Tuesday to 666 on Wednesday. They are down from 1,019 on May 4. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said Thursday’s report includes a batch of historical negative and positive test results that added 16,492 historical tests administered, 7,082 tested individuals and 765 historical cases to the counts. The cases are not included in the new positive counts but were added to the total cases.
