Subscribe NowThe Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 770 new COVID-19 cases, only the second time in 13 days that cases have fallen below 1,000 in the daily report. Case counts on Mondays, which rely on Sunday reporting, are often lower than the rest of the week.
The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana dropped from 1,313 on Saturday to 1,296 on Sunday, but was up from 985 on April 1.
The state reported three new deaths from COVID-19, increasing the cumulative total 12,818.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased rose from 829 on Saturday to 875 on Sunday. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The health department reported the testing of 3,800 new individuals.
The state said more than 1.57 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m. More than 2.17 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
