The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana rose from 1,040 on Wednesday to 1,089 on Thursday—up from 985 at the beginning of the month.
The state reported eight new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative total to 12,921.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose from 890 on Wednesday to 920 on Thursday. Hospitalizations are up 32% since April 1. The all-time high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The health department reported the testing of 5,908 new individuals.
The state said more than 1.88 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday at 5 a.m. More than 2.34 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
