This runaway train likely can’t be contained, but it should be. It’s definitely affecting public schools, who have a statutory mandate to provide a “free and appropriate education” to all who live in their boundaries.
A sad debacle.
+1
They talk about options. They talk about choice. They don’t talk about better outcomes for kids any longer. I wonder why.
I also wonder when the state of Indiana is getting the $88 million back that was stolen by that virtual school that enrolled dead kids.
here’s hoping it grows by 100% this year. All one needs to understand is the invasive and unnecessary COVID policies coupled with the absolute sexual trash being forced on the most innocents should signal the need for any responsible parent to exclude your child from public education. The overreach and existence of the Teacher’s unions must be destroyed before education and our children are.
Public education in the state of Indiana has been controlled by the Indiana Republican Party for the last decade, including what is taught.
And the longer they’ve had control, the worse the educational outcomes for students, both in public and private schools.
But go on blaming the teachers unions, which have been punched down on for quite some time in every legislative session. Because any idiot can be a teacher, right?
With teachers unions, yes, Joe, any idiot CAN be a teacher. The whole point of unions is to protect teachers, and while that protection is sometimes justified, it becomes a blanket shield that also protects them from accountability. Which is why schools have turned into the clown show they are today. It’s so nice watching public education get its much-deserved collapse. I guess the most radicalized teachers can always join Antifa. Of course, that’s assuming they aren’t already members.
It’s fascinating how the nu-Left both defends massively wealthy corporate institutions at every turn, while championing the military industrial complex, and shrugging their shoulders half the time at actual blue-collar manufacturing jobs that don’t have that public sector cushion the way teachers do. It’s weird how the only unions the Democrats seem to champion these days are public sector ones (AFT, AFSCME, NEA, SEIU) –the ones that have the least justification for their existence. But I guess this is what happens when the neo-libs and neo-cons morph into one megaparty whose greatest interest is self-preservation and the annihilation of anyone who asks that they might relinquish some of their tax-payer funded toys.
Punch down, kick them, pull their hair. Or, since violence is mostly a left-wing strategy, just pull your kids out, boycott them, and force their already precipitously declining unions to work even harder to justify their positions teaching neo-pronouns to a mostly empty 3rd grade classroom.
Violence is a mostly left wing strategy? That’s adorable.
By the way, it’s always funny how all you Make America Great Again types never want anything like a union to come along for the ride. Because the free market and individual workers negotiating alone is going to enable blue collar salaries to be good enough to enable one income households, which would go a long way to re-enabling the “good times” you all claim to want, to make a return?
I mean, think this through for more than 5 seconds. It’s really easy to complain about everything and just say “burn it down” in response to everything. It’s the lack of alternatives to nihilism and fascist leaders that leaves you mute.
Shouldn’t vouchers save money? For example, Crispus Attucks High School had per pupil expenditures of $13,159.00. https://oese.ed.gov/ppe/indiana/ If the vouchers provide less than $13,159 (and I think they do), then shouldn’t we save money from vouchers?
