Patients Choice Laboratories said Friday it was “appalled” by the comments of its employee, Jonathan Reeser, who sent a vulgar, threatening direct message to Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Reeser’s message read, in part: “I hope you (sic) family is raped and murdered and I hope you get tied to the back of a truck and drug 10,000 miles until your body is ripped to pieces you scum. I wish I saw you in person I’d break your f****** face so fast youd have plastic surgery and never look the same again.”
It was unclear what had upset Reeser, although the comments came the same week that U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he would remove Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee after the Republicans took control of the House.
Swalwell posted the threatening message on his Twitter feed on Thursday evening and asked his followers for information.
“Does anyone know Jonathan Reeser of Indiana? Why would he say threaten to kill my family?” Swalwell posted.
The congressman also posted a link to Reeser’s LinkedIn page, which has since been taken down. Reeser’s Twitter account has also been taken down.
More than 6,000 people responded to Swalwell’s tweet, with many saying the message should be reported to authorities. Some also tweeted that the Reeser’s employer should note what he had written and take action.
Reeser, who lives in Fishers, had previously stated on his LinkedIn page that he managed the day-to-day operations and employees of Patients Choice Laboratories.
Patients Choice Laboratories, a diagnostic lab based on the city’s west side, tweeted a message Friday that it had terminated Reeser.
“We were appalled by the recent comments made by one of our employees,” the company’s message said. “We do not stand for, or condone, offensive or threatening behaviors. Not only do these comments violate our social media policy, but they violate our company’s moral and ethical standards and will not be tolerated.”
The company’s message continued: “After an internal investigation, the individual has been terminated effective immediately and is no longer affiliated with the company.”
Reeser could not be reached for comment.

what a sad little boy this jonathan
My guess is that he was drunk or high. I know someone that sends very abusive messages when they are in a similar state.
Or just an asshole.
Congratulations to Patients Choice Laboratory for their decision to terminate this individual. Comments such as those taken by Mr. Reeser are offensive to our political society and must be condemned in the harshest manner possible.
How does someone have so much hatred for someone they do not even know?
The world is so much more hateful since the introduction of social media.
