  1. If Washington Township is anything to go by, this will easily pass and a few years down the road the district will come back for more saying that costs were higher than expected, no one could have possibly forecast that, please approve another property tax hike – it’s for the kids!

  2. IPS has thrown money at a losing battle for years and yet here they are trying to do it again. Money cannot fix the woes that plague this school district.

    1. Amen–but I will have to say the current superintendent is much closer to reality than any I have seen for years.

  3. These “Stand for Children” parents should instead petition their billionaire sponsor Bill Gates and his Mind Trust confederates, who continue to push a systematic looting of IPS. Go have your private schools and leave our public schools alone.

  4. The legislature needs to fix the law that requires schools to sell buildings for $1. That would be a good start to the problem. Let them sell those buildings at a fair market value. That would give them some money to work with. IPS wastes too much money to be given $410M for capital spending

IPS needs to focus on three levels of students–1) elementary students grades K-3 should focus HEAVILY on reading, writing and math to give them a good foundation to build their education on. 2) grades 4-6 should be able to pass at least third grade in all skills or they should remain in 3rd grade with tutors to help them learn. 3) Once the students get to middle and high school they should be able to take elective classes that guide them to a trade or college.
