The financial information for total per pupil expenditure is interesting. Indiana average is $9,193.68. https://inview.doe.in.gov/

Decatur Township = $9,224.63
Franklin Township = $8,943.02
Lawrence Township = $9,598.37
Perry Township Schools = $9,240.91
Pike Township = $10,106.76
Town of Speedway = $10,536.68
Warren Township = $10,389.71
Washington Township = $10,655.27
Wayne Township = $10,012.61
Carmel Clay Schools = $9,564.31

This is a good call out Neil. I’d like to see a clear accounting from IPS of where their funds are used and some explanation as to why they can’t operate well despite having nearly $4000 more per student than their immediate neighbors. Some difference is to be expected based on economic factors, but that seems significant.
Kevin, define “operate well”.
If the problem is so easy, why doesn’t the state legislature just take over IPS and run it how they see fit?
