  1. The newcomer program sounds kind of misguided. Why separate non English speakers from native English speakers? It seems like it would limit immersion learning. But I can understand concerns about bullying or individualized attention.

  2. Hold back everyone else in class so the illegal aliens who don’t speak English can catch up. What a concept. Another part of the public schools’ plans to dumb down the population.
