The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 568 new cases of COVID-19. Daily cases have been below 1,000 for 18 of the past 19 days.

The state also reported 12 new deaths due to the coronavirus. The department said 3,125 new individuals were tested.

Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose from 610 on Sunday to 619 on Monday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.

The state did not have updated vaccination numbers available Tuesday at midday. It said more than 837,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m. More than 1.27 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

New tested individuals: 3,125

Total cumulative tested individuals: 3,188,106

Cumulative positivity rate unique individuals: 21.1%

Seven-day positivity rate unique individuals: 8.5%**

Cumulative positivity rate all tests: 9.5%

Seven-day positivity rate all tests: 3.1%**

** The health department reports the 7-day positivity rates with a six-day lag to allow time for more comprehensive results.

Statewide totals (Dec. 14 – March 15)

First dose administered: 1,276,777 (daily increase of 5,824)

Fully vaccinated: 837,233 (daily increase of 6,374)

Marion County cumulative cases: 92,031 (increase of 61)

Marion County new deaths: 4

Marion County cumulative deaths: 1,679

Marion County 7-day positivity rate unique individuals: 5.9%

Marion County 7-day positivity rate all tests: 2.6%

Hamilton County cumulative cases: 32,777

Hendricks County cumulative cases: 16,086

Johnson County cumulative cases: 16,634

Madison County cumulative cases: 11,899

Boone County cumulative cases: 6,252

Hancock County cumulative cases: 7,539

Morgan County cumulative cases: 6,197

Shelby County cumulative cases: 4,675

Indiana intensive care unit usage

Available ICU beds: 40.4 %

ICU beds in use by COVID-19 patients: 4.5%

Available ventilators: 82.2%

Ventilators in use for COVID-19: 1.5%

U.S. and worldwide numbers

As of Tuesday, from Johns Hopkins University:

U.S. cases: 29,497,420

U.S. deaths: 535,698

Global cases: 120,357,703

Global deaths: 2,663,188

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
