  1. This is a very good effort by WISH 8 and the new ownership. Too bad the ‘great’ (not so) AT&T with Uverse and DirecTV, Won’t allow the local subscribers to catch/watch WISH 8, due their overwhelming greed and inability to care for those subscribers that pay exhorbenant monthly fees for the pitiful programming, and lack of access for stations such as 8 and 23!!!!

    1. As the article mentions, Channel 23 (and Channel 8) are both available over-the-air with an antenna for free. One just needs to go out to purchase an antenna one time, which can be found for cheap at any department store or online… and then you have access to Channel 23 and Channel 8, along with all of the other local affiliates (Channels 4, 6, 13, 20 and 59). So, the battles between local affiliates and cable/satellite providers doesn’t truly stop anyone from viewing this channel.

  2. Bravo. This is exactly what community radio and community television is all about. Sometimes the Almighty broadcasters forget that there to serve the public interest. It all rotates around the almighty dollar. But these are different and trying times. It’s time for the broadcasters to think outside of the box. It’s time to start serving your community in more ways than simple public affairs shows on Sunday and local newscasts.

    1. Hi Mary,
We’re excited to launch this partnership with IPS & would love to help you explore options supporting the effort.
Please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions.
Thanks & hope to hear from you soon!
