First known as the Indiana Hotel Association, the organization became the Indiana Restaurant Association in 1933. It rebranded as the Indianapolis Restaurant and Lodging Association 80 years later, in 2013, to expand the association’s reach to the entire hospitality industry. The group advocates for and celebrates Indiana’s hospitality industry, which employs more than 400,000 people and generates nearly $30 billion in annual revenue statewide.
