  1. I hate to be the downer here and I agree these athletes should receive payment. As a taxpayer and at taxpayer facilities such as IU, PU, ISU, BSU the taxpayer should be reimbursed a facilities fee for them to demonstrate their talents. All the expenses from date of signing to put that player on the field including facilities, coaching staff, transportation, travel, food, training equipment, tape, ice baths, chiropractors, doctors etc. will all need to be paid for out of these payments. Then if they don’t graduate at least in the top 30% of the class they must reimburse for educational expenses, tutors, fees and once again facilities.
