The department also reported 75 more deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths have exceeded 25 in the report for 38 straight days.
Indiana has reported 542 new deaths from the virus over the past seven days, an average of 77 per day. That’s down from 595 deaths the previous week, a daily average of 85.
According to health department data, 92.8% of the people who have died from COVID-19 in Indiana were age 60 or older.
The state said 15,392 new individuals have been tested, bringing the cumulative total to 2,738,914.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 fell from 2,769 on Thursday to 2,678 on Friday. The high mark was 3,460 set on Nov. 30.
COVID-19 patients occupy 27% of the state’s intensive care beds.
The 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals is 28.5%.

We have had a 5 day trend downward on the positivity rate for newly tested individuals: 50.8%, 47.84%, 45.29%, 44.32%, and today’s rate was 41.07%. I hope that’s a good development.
We have almost reached 9,000 COVID deaths in Indiana. State populations of Wisconsin and Minnesota are approximately the same as Indiana’s but their number of deaths is under 6,000.

No in-person attendance at Milwaukee Bucks or Minnesota Timberwolves basketball games is allowed. No in-person attendance was allowed at Green Bay Packers football games even though played in an outdoor stadium.
