  1. I am highly suspect of this….all of it. I will be looking to see if i can get the report. I am interested in what constitutes “mental” illness. R we talking about neurosis or psychosis. It is interesting that that the study population is 6.2 million and as of 2021 we only had 6.806 million people in the state. Damn…how did i get missed. 🤔 I strongly suspect that what is “labelled’ as mental health is simply bad parenting…or the lack thereof which results in an unhappy debit as opposed to an unhappy credit to society. I will be very interested in what the definition of mental illness is. And how does therapy work for those who don’t need to be incarcerated or committed. Are we going to pay for therapy, counseling at $225/hour twice a week for 5 years? who is going to pay for that? and let’s face it…most counseling is getting over yourself. “your rights end at your nose.’ “Treat others as you would have them treat you”. “If you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything” “Sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. Grow up, the world owes you nothing.” “Hard work is it’s own reward.” best i can tell is that we are all a little or a lot whacked….including me…especially me.

  2. Speaking as a retired mental health professional in this state, one thing I can attest to that is always left out of this discussion of mental health needs in the state of Indiana is the lack of trained mental health professionals at all levels. All of these proposals to address mental health needs in this state never seem to address this issue. You can talk all you want about funding all kinds of services but if there are not enough providers, they will go nowhere. Part of the solution needs to involve more training and retaining mental health providers in the state.
