Why stop now?
Imagine that, the Hicks crush the Knicks! Yes, NY’s team had a strong roster. But it also exuded an smug sense of self that implied it was superior in every way and would not be deprived. Indeed, it thought it was somehow entitled to win. Well it was not entitled but it was deprived. Look out Boston, the Pacers have you in their sights…
For a Pacer-fan viewer, the fawning broadcasters on ABC, both game-callers and in-studio, were a little hard to take. (“No way the Pacers can keep shooting this well”. Really?) They talked as if the Knicks didn’t get their (butts) kicked in two critical games.
But the Pacers proved Barkley right. He called the series for them early on.
Going to miss Inside the NBA, I can watch those guys even when I have no interest in the game they are covering.
Both Shaq and Barkley called the Pacers to the ECF when they beat the Bucks.
Just a joy to watch when they play this hard. It looks like Carlisle got their attention after game 5.
Wonderful result on multiple levels. The talk is about the record shooting clip of over 67% but the real reason the Pacers have been able to get better came with about 20 games left in the regular season…..a commitment and subsequent success at protecting the rim, rebounding and taking higher PERCENTAGE shots….layups, 4 footers and dunks. It not only improves percentages but delete’s defensive rebounding and fast breaks. Carlisle and the players are to be commended.
ESPN, ABC and the NY media will be serving ‘crow’ for lunch at Sardi’s. Bon appetite.
Go Pacers! Was a great game, even if the announcers thought this was all Nicks. Maybe we should not allow them in Indiana as they were so slanted. That would send a message to networks. They all talk too much and seem to forget they are there to call the game.
Onward our great team goes!!!
It almost magical the way this team plays together. McConnell and Toppin coming off the bench are instant energy injectors and really make a difference as the game progresses. Siakam is the “old pro” and while his ball handling skills are suspect in traffic, he’s always hustling, hits that fadeaway regularly and is a quiet leader. Not seen so many players gel like this Pacer team has done. A pleasure to watch and fun to be a part of!
Fabulous game…Don’t know who to thank most…maybe each of them for sharing the ball and believing in one another. Love to see it when TJ comes out and gets things going…there was that loudmouth from NY that I couldn’t even understand what he was saying because he was yelling so much. Very biased commentators…give the Pacers credit…they played a GREAT game and deserved to win. Now on to beat Boston…you can do it. We finally believe in you. Thank you coach Carlisle and staff…BIG thanks to Herb Simon for keeping the Pacers in Indy
