If employees refuse to get vaccinated for other than medical reasons, employers should embrace the approach initiated by Delta Airlines: unvaccinated workers will be charged an additional $200 per month to cover the higher insurance costs that result from the higher risk such employees experience.

    1. Yeah the financial hit is an interesting ‘stick’. Interested to see how that plays out.

      Our public-facing business is instead using working conditions as the stick… If you haven’t provided proof, you are required to mask your entire work shift – essentially going back to pre-April rules. That still gives employees the decision to choose, but provides a penalty rooted in mitigating the add’l risk.

      Our owner has said that – besides not being in the business of setting public policy – he really wants staff to make their own individual, thoughtful decision… but isn’t against putting the thumb on the scale, lol.
