  1. How about using the money the government already has and leaving us with better roads? A tax cut just means more bad roads and money instead spend on car repairs from hitting yet another pot hole. I’m not saving any money.

  2. In this time, a tax cut seems the most ridiculous idea I have heard. We keep wanting to lower taxes but then never get done what is needed. Our roads and bridges are a mess. What else should we ignore to keep down taxes? Ours are some of the lowest now, what decrease. Do what is needed for the future of all of we Hoosiers.

    1. Brandt, have you ever actually driven outside Indiana? I drove 6000 miles across 19 states this summer, and Indiana’s main interstates (65, 69, 70) are far worse than isolated 2-lane state highways in many other states.

    2. I agree with Brandt. Indiana’s interstates are well-funded and, if in need of repair, are likely scheduled within the next couple years. This infrastructure is generally rated higher than other states. The real road funding problem is city/county roads and that’s the result of the Legislature’s road funding formula that favors rural areas at the expense of the cities. Also, Indiana should take the surplus and invest in other areas – not just roads!
