Regal, which closed its theaters last year because of the pandemic, announced last month that it would begin reopening its theaters on April 2. To date, the company has reopened 22 of its 526 theaters. The Greenwood location, 461 Greenwood Park Dr. S., will be the first in Indiana to reopen, with others slated to reopen over the next several weeks.
“We are excited to open our doors and begin sharing our love of movies with our fans,” the company said on its website.
Other Indianapolis-area openings are scheduled as follows:
May 7: Regal Shiloh Crossing, 10400 E. U.S. 36 in Avon; Regal Village Park, 2222 E. 146th St. in Carmel; and Regal UA Galaxy, 8105 E. 96th St. in Indianapolis
May 14: Regal Circle Centre in downtown Indianapolis; Regal Noblesville, 10075 Town and Country Blvd.
The company said it is instituting a variety of COVID-19-related safety measures at reopened locations, including daily health screenings for employees; face masks required at all times except for while eating and drinking concessions in the theater; and limited registers and menu offerings at concession stands.

Good! Watching a movie at home is nowhere near the same experience as it is in person!
Yes, and I look forward to standing in a longer line at the concession stand!
