Elkhart is a very resilient city. It gets hammered during tough times, but
always comes back bigger & better than before.
Elkhart is dominated by one industry, but it’s NOT a one company industrial
town. It’s made up of hundreds ( if not thousands ) of suppliers.
I read a piece recently in a local paper suggesting the construction quality in the RV industry went down significantly with the drive to meet increased demand over the last couple years. I also now someone who bought a new RV in the mid ‘10s and had quite a few problems with it in just a couple years with limited use. As someone who would like to buy an RV someday, it would be nice if there were better objective sources for reviews of the different models like there are for cars and trucks. My limited research seems to only find fluff reviews from the manufacturers or third parties supported by them.
