  1. “Religious Freedom” is a joke – in a nation founded on freedom from religious persecution, we can’t even keep the priests out of the statehouse. Gross.

    1. It’s a two-way street or no-way street. If a preacher can enter a publicly-owned and funded space and use it as a platform to promote their religion and ideology, then so can anyone else.

  2. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. (FROM TO THE OFFICERS OF THE FIRST BRIGADE OF THE THIRD DIVISION OF THE MILITIA OF MASSACHUSETTS, 11 October, 1798)
John Adams (signatory of the Declaration of Independence)

  3. Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch: “I may get in trouble for this. Who knows?”

Cleric she invited to proselytize in the people’s Statehouse: “No, you’re not. You’re going to be filled with favor.”

Jim Bakker, of Jim and Tammy Faye, in 1990: “If you pray for a camper, tell God what color.”
