Instead of looking at “spending” disparities, why don’t they look at REVENUE DISPARITIES. Women’s sports don’t hold up their end. They don’t produce money from their events, they only tend to collect money generally generated either through direct monies raised through tickets or through the TV and advertising revenues from men’s sports (primarily football and basketball) Event the monies that the NCAA has come through fees and contracts with TV and media that generate them from Men’s football and Men’s basketball advertising revenue.
Sorry if it hurts but this “EQUITY” deal sounds an awful like the extortion game that Jessie Jackson did so successfully during the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties. In order to try and look “good” and impress their friends, many corporations and other entities paid up. When the NCAA tries to and then kills the goose that laid the golden egg (TV and media revenue) skimming off even more that now, it may turn into a circular firing squad. Still, I put nothing past them. The ISHAA, in the name of being “fair” killed off the boys basketball tournament so as to be the “nice guys” and be “fair” and went from making huge profits to the poor house.
Marxism, no matter how big and nice a bow you put on it, never works
