  1. Here’s a thought. Keep the “rebate” and use it for infrastructure. Roads, water lines, electrical grids, etc. Oh and while your at it, give the teachers and State Troopers a raise. For a state that can pay its bills, it sure doesn’t want to retain good help! I am definitely voting Libertarian next election. Tired of the two parties in this state.

    1. Oh yeah, libertarians are definitely going to help if you have infrastructure concerns. 🙄.

      As a reminder, here’s what Don Rainwater’s platform was in 2020:

      “Reduce your overall tax burden by eliminating state individual income tax and the personal property tax on your primary residence;
      Reduce regulations and licensing that stifles the growth of small business;
      Reform criminal justice and invigorate our economy through decriminalization and legalization of all forms of cannabis in Indiana.”

      Left unsaid, of course, is what services are being cut to balance the books when we drop the revenue brought in via individual income taxes in the state of Indiana. They’re not going to be fixing roads better after dropping those income streams.

      We might make a lot of money legalizing weed and taxing it, but it’s not going to replace the $7 billion that currently comes in via income taxes.

  2. Why not just let it sit and collect the interest payments? Or, become an investor in the businesses that are getting tax credits so there’s a return in addition to a vested interested in keeping the company located in IN? It seems like we could do more to make the money work for us, instead of relying on tax dollars.
