The Lawheads said in a Thursday posting that the COVID-19 pandemic is prompting an earlier-than-expected end to the business they started at 620 S. Rangeline Road in 2010.
The coffee shop, which also offers gallery space and consignment opportunities to local artists, will operate with reduced hours before its last day on Dec. 30.
They said customers will still be able to get their fix from the SoHo to Go coffee truck after the coffee shop and gallery closes.
“We hope you, your neighborhood, or businesses will call to schedule a visit from the coffee truck, serving the same organic, single origin coffee, tea, smoothies, chai, and more that is served in our cafe,” Vivian Lawhead said in the post.
Larry Lawhead retired from law practice in 2019 and Vivian Lawhead retired from the Carmel Clay School system in 2011, she said, and the couple was already considering an end to the SoHo Cafe and Gallery. The current pandemic simply “confirmed” their decision, she said.
The Lawheads said they would miss “the daily grind.”
