Indianapolis-based Sophia’s Bridal & Tux is expanding with a new boutique on the city’s north side and its first out-of-state location in Louisville.

Sophia’s says the decision to expand is a result of growth in the bridal industry as well as the need for a larger retail space on Indy’s north side.

The new central Indiana store will be located in a 5,000-square-foot space in The Shops at River Crossing on East 86th Street, just east of the Fashion Mall at Keystone.

“We have seen significant growth this past year and are looking ahead to an even bigger 2022 for the wedding and prom industries,” said Sophia’s owner Jessica Limeberry. “We are grateful to our incredible team members and supportive community who have helped make this expansion possible, and we look forward to empowering and serving even more people in the near future.”

Sophia’s says the River Crossing store will essentially replace its boutique at 8966 E. 96th St. in Fishers, which the company outgrew. It will transfer its Fishers-based employees and apparel to the new location once it opens.

Construction on the space is expected to be completed in January. The store says it is planning to host a grand opening at the beginning of February.

The Louisville store is also scheduled to open in February in the city’s St. Matthews neighborhood.

In addition to the Fishers location, Sophia’s currently operates stores at 2025 E. Southport Road in Indianapolis and 544 Washington St. in Columbus.
