Fishers-based Rebar Development on Wednesday said Aldi will occupy 20,400 square feet of newly built space in the project under construction near Interstate 465 at the northwest corner of Crawfordsville and High School roads.
A 127-room Hampton Inn and Crew Car Wash have previously committed to being part of the 25-acre development.
Speedway is partnering on the project by spending $5 million in infrastructure improvements at the site, including a new signalized intersection at 25th Street and High School Road.
When they announced the project in February, officials said the goal was to land a national grocer.
“When we began this redevelopment process for Founders Square, we asked our residents what their top priorities were for the town,” Speedway Economic Development Director Tim Gropp said in written remarks. “By far, the No. 1 response was to have an additional option for groceries. We are pleased that Aldi has fulfilled this need in our community.”
Construction on the store began this month and is scheduled to be complete this summer.
Aldi has about 30 stores in the greater Indianapolis area.

Nice! I’m glad to finally have an Aldi in Speedway when I go out that way. I know there’s one at 45th & Lafayette Road, but this would be more convenient for me.
A signal has long been needed at High School and 25th Street.
