Back to the days of riding the circuit. Reduce sitting superior court judges in the four counties, and have adjacent counties send in judges to fill in an otherwise vacant court room, or have the SC appoint special judges as needed on specific cases. Union and Franklin could easily share a judge.
But remember, in most counties judges are elected on a partisan ballot, and taking away any of those plum positions will cause deep tremors in the political universe.
Everyone claims they want less government until they realize it means getting rid of their local government that doesn’t make sense, like judges who are under-utilized and township government.

Everyone wants lower property taxes, until it comes to bad streets, bad sidewalks, underfunded schools, low police salaries, crumbling public buildings, insufficient ambulance or fire departments.
Everyone wants…but so few seem to appreciate someone has to pay for that…
Or, maybe we can just get the federal government to pay for all of it…then we won’t have to raise taxes…
