One thought on “Supreme Court to hear challenge to consumer agency

  1. Compared to must Western countries, America’s codified consumer protections are extremely week. We, but especially “small government” R’s want consumers to rely on civil courts. Completely unreasonable when:

->Damages to individual consumers are often less than legal fees
->Many of the few consumer protection laws the US does have don’t shift the legal fee burden to the loser
->Class actions are ineffective at properly compensating harmed consumers

So I am pro-consumer protection, especially so in the banking industry. If Republics think the agency has “unchecked power” – and it might – work on bipartisan legislation to add reasonable checks.
