    1. Some people have very short memories of how poorly tariffs worked before … how badly they worked in, I dunno, the first Trump administration.

People who didn’t study history are doomed to repeat it. A country led by an ignoramus is only good for the folks in China and Russia, who will never catch America unless we shoot ourselves in the foot, which we are comprehensively doing at the moment.

  1. One thing people may not understand is a lot of our imported good are already taxed in the form of duty. This was designed to offset trade, etc. The Tariff is in addition to that duty, with no real plan or reason. Its is ONLY going to hurt the American economy.

    1. Yes, it’s alarming how uneducated most Americans are on how these changes will directly affect the cost of goods and their personal finances. When you try to explain it to them, most don’t want to understand it. They just want to “stick-it” to the foreign manufacturers. In reality, they are “sticking-it” to themselves.

  2. It will be interesting to see how the MAGAts reconcile these clearly inflationary tariffs with the new numbers on inflation from January. 629 days until the Congressional mid-terms. Hopefully then we can elect Representatives and Senators who remember the Congress is a separate branch of government and has authority over things like budgets and appropriated funds and the existence of federal agencies. Unlike the MAGAt lap poodles in the majority today.
