    1. Soylent Green is people! I have already placed an order for the sunflower scene to be part of the process when they prepare me for human consumption.

  1. Interesting concept, and I have nothing against their goal – and I doubt “acceptance” of the product will ever matter since most people do not care, not even the slightest amount, how their meat is made. Yet these companies are not going to have any meaningful production for a decade – if ever? They should focus less on the ethics or the “mission” and just make a real product first.

If they truly believe that reducing mega-farm-grown meat is a necessary step, then it is going to require a significant number of people to make personal choices to stop eating meat as often. I don’t see how a “lab grown alternative” is being even remotely helpful to help towards that goal. They expect it’s going to be expensive – so this is a meat option for those who already can afford to switch to plant-based options (or don’t like how they taste) and want meat, but don’t want animals involved… seems like that’s not a big market.
