I listened to the Scalise summary. He invoked no fewer than 10 time the reference “Biden’s failed agenda” yet failed to provide any substantive data to prove that prices would actually be lower and did not provide any data that supported that claim that energy independence [from other countries] would be achieved.
A balanced energy plan is laudable. More production or mining of key elements is needed. However, the US does not possess all the resources necessary.
Why can’t these so-called representatives of the people stop playing asinine games and truly work together to enact measures that benefit the average person, seek to ensure safety and environmental protections, utilize resources responsibly, and define a long-term plan for optimization of energy resources by type, availability, location, and distribution. Yes, oil is indeed available in the US but it must be refined and the type of oil does matter — all is not the same and the refining process to yield a product for domestic use (read: gasoline as this is the GOP rallying cry, as if gasoline has never been costly before) that is less costly than that imported. All in the House and Senate are guilty of horizon of their next election — term limits are needed.
We don’t need term limits. We need people to vote out their own incumbents, which they refuse to do year after year.
