  1. However, the program does not require members to keep and submit receipts of the specific expenses, so it is unclear exactly when the expenses occurred and what they covered.

    As a taxpayer doing an itemized return, you better have every receipt, or you will be penalized.

    Congress accountability. eh not so much. Do we think this is a good idea?

    Just curious, does this cover expenses for mistresses?

  2. If Baird spent 100 nights in hotel rooms then that is almost $300 a night which is starting to get excessive either on the number of nights or the cost per night. A little accountability seems to be in order.

    1. $300 is not a budget hotel, certainly, but it’s not unrealistic for one that is within walking distance of the Capitol. Those closer to the White House/Downtown DC are much higher. But can a Congressional representative do their job with only 100 nights in DC? Seems more likely he stayed in a cheaper place for 150-175 nights.
