    1. Or probably a sheep to some obscure, out of context, misinterpreted bible one-liners.

    2. Most major religions hold that people have a moral responsibility to maintain their health ― including getting vaccinated.

  1. Shouldn’t surprise anyone….
-Last October, VP candidate Harris said she wouldn’t trust the vaccine.
-Vaccine is still under “emergency status” with FDA
-Certain elected leaders that are fully vaccinated are still wearing masks..indoors and outdoors.
-every day more evidence that Dr. Fauci has some real credibility issues.

    1. Your response shows a typical “out-of-context” response. Kamala Harris said in October that she “would not trust the vaccine on Trump’s say-so alone”. Based on the science, not Mr. Trump, Kamala Harris made the decision to get vaccinated. What’s your point about “emergency status”? Are we to assume that when it receives “approval” from the FDA, the efficacy and science of the vaccine is better? I guess several million people getting it just doesn’t provide reason enough to get vaccinated? Or, you may think, those of us who did will grow horns, be unable to conceive or die some terrible death. The reason that some “elected leaders that are fully vaccinated are still wearing masks” speaks to the reality that, although vaccinated and unlikely to contract, or if contracted to have very mild affect, WE CAN STILL BE CARRIERS. As a potential carrier, I don’t want to be a spreader to you or anyone. I am still willing to do what I can to protect those who seem to be more concerned about their rights than their responsibilities to their fellow citizens. Finally, your willingness to read too many truths into right wing media claims against Dr. Fauci are just not factually based. You MAY be a person who will never want anyone “telling me what to do”; however, I will continue to support Dr. Fauci because I feel I do have the intelligent reasoning to understand the challenges of dealing with a pandemic in a society, sadly, that still seems hell bent on “protecting individual freedoms and our democracy” no matter the effect on my neighbor. It seems too many feel this when the Founding Fathers knew that the success of our democracy and the individual liberties to which that democracy aspired, could only happen with the acknowledgement that each citizen would act not in support of those freedoms, alone; rather, to prioritize the social responsibility that fuels those freedom’s very existence.

  2. Until we reach herd immunity vaccination rates, the virus is at risk of mutating to the point where the vaccine won’t work anymore. The real sheep are the ones squawking back Fox and Newsmax propaganda, and using “ThE BiBlE” as an excuse for behaving the exact opposite way Jesus would.

    1. The flu mutates every year and they update the vaccine accordingly why would this be any different? Let people get on with life.

    2. Derek, what’s different here is that the flu doesn’t kill over 500,000 people per year. Over the past decade an average of 36,000 per year have died from the flu. I’m so sick of hearing this false equivalency.

    3. Yes Wesley, it IS difference that influenza and guess what the 1918 pandemic killed 50 million people and now like you said influenza kills on average some 30k but sometimes on the high 61k! This is a novel virus and we’re at almost 4M deaths with a much large population. We learn and adapt and create new vaccines to combat them. Let people that want the vaccine get it, let people make choices in their own lives because they are more likely to infect friends and family than anyone else. STOP THE FEAR PORN.

  3. From the story: “Indiana said more than 2.57 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Saturday morning, or about 38% of the population. Another 2.68 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination. If all of those who’ve received the first dose get their second shot, Indiana will top a 77% vaccination rate.”

This needs to be corrected. It is not even close to true that “another 2.68 million had received the first dose”. The 2.68 million is the total number of Hoosiers who have received a first dose. The 2.57 million who have been fully vaccinated includes 2.38 million of the 2.68 million who received a first dose (plus 192,000 who received the single-dose J&J vaccine). Therefore, there are only 300K who have received the first dose and not the second. If and when those 300K people get there second shot, it will bring us to ~45% of Hoosiers being fully vaccinated, nowhere near the 77% cited in the story.
