  1. Thank you for this article. It really comes down to a subset of the country not wanting to teach or learn how poorly certain groups were/are treated in this “great” nation.

  2. I also want to thank you for this article. It’s extremely important that people are educated on why racism from the past still affects minority communities today. Generational wealth is the biggest difference, in my opinion, on the poverty rates in the Black community vs the white community. It’s easy to get a leg up when you inherit enough money to buy a house, or more.

  3. Repugnant, was would be expected from such a flaming liberal as Ms. Kennedy. So predictable a moron could write her columns and do no worse.

Teach children to read, wrote legibly, and do basic mathematics. Not as romantic as pushing liberalism and America-hating at the expense of a good, basic education, but far better for our country and culture. Quit telling children how terrible their inherited country is…or better yet, move to another country that is better, Ms. Kennedy. Let us know when you’ve found it, will you?

Meanwhile, please explain away the bombed and burned-out inner cities, including many primarily African-American neighborhoods, that have been destroyed in the last year at the hand of liberal Democrat Mayors and city councils, fearful of losing power by enforcing laws and backing their police departments. Look in the mirror, Ms. Kennedy, if you dare.

  4. i don’t find two or three 60-80 year old examples of issues that have been addressed legislatively to be as compelling as the notion that it is OK to teach racial divisiveness in public primary and secondary schools today. the curriculum is being taught – and to deny that is to lie and it is divisive because it starts with a premise around racism.
