  1. Smoke and mirrors, you two. Either you support proper Voter Photo ID or you don’t. If you don’t, you are directly contributing to voter fraud, such as mail-in ballots. I see nothing in this writing one way or another, so your position of requiring proper PHOTO ID needs to be clarified.

I have worked the polls in all but one municipal and federal election, including primaries, in Hendricks County almost 40 years and have seen more on voter ID in my lifetime than both of you combined.

Indiana’s laws are excellent and do not need to be changed, nor does the time allowed for voting. 6AM to 6PM is long enough. Work the polls a couple of times and you’ll see; the minimum time for the poll workers is 5AM to 7PM, plus time the night before to set up the polling place and make sure all the materials and machines are in working order.

Further, Indiana has plenty of provisions for early or absentee voting for those who cannot vote on election day. Traveling Election Boards see to it that shut-ins can vote as well.

  2. Perhaps Indiana in not the problem. Indiana, albeit not the worst, is hardly a great example of fair voting and equal access. There is always room for improvement. Few dispute appropriate identification for voting, but options exist for doing so and perfectly fine options exist for alternate voting, including mail-in voting which has been common in several state prior to the 2020 massive lie campaign embraced by far too many.

A better process would be consistent voting protocol throughout the United States. Certainly the congressional representation in Washington has the ability to devise policies to ensure vote integrity for each eligible citizen. Despite statements lamenting Washington, the greatest problems rests with many elected and sent there who do noting but collect a check and benefits.
